I’m Stefanie, the artist, designer, and quilter behind Satterwhite Quilts.
Born and raised in North Texas, I received my degree in Biology from the University of Texas at Austin in 2006. I left behind the Hill Country for the hustle and bustle of New York City in 2011 where I begin my career in digital product design and made my first quilt in 2014. After moving to Oakland and becoming a mom in 2015, my passion for quilting blossomed as I began exploring color and movement with traditional-inspired quilt blocks. In 2017 we relocated again, this time to the Seattle area where I currently live with my partner and daughter and work as a freelance user experience designer.
My recent quilt designs are focused on the relationships between color and shapes, triangular abstraction of imagery, and the exploration of radial symmetry.
